Ivalua Drives Success of Faurecia’s GPS

Mountain View, Ca. - March 15, 2010 - Ivalua Drives Success of Faurecia’s GPS – Global Purchasing System

Ivalua, a leading provider of smart procurement solutions, today announced that Faurecia, a global leader in automobile parts, has realized significant results with Ivalua over the past three years.

Faurecia has sales of more than $12.5 billion, 62,000 employees and a presence in 32 countries. The company’s considerable amount of spend (70% of revenue), led Faurecia to seek a comprehensive spend management tool in order to standardize its data and to facilitate access to information by its entire global purchasing community.

“Ivalua impressed us with the quality of its purchasing solution as well as the professionalism and availability of its teams,” says Jean-François Perroud, Project Leader for the GPS Procurement System at Faurecia. “Over the past three years, Faurecia has used Ivalua Buyer globally. We use the solution to simplify the tracking of information coming in from the hundreds of suppliers, which are managed and consulted on a daily basis by purchasing agents. The success has been significant and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Ivalua well into the future.”

Faurecia manufactures products for leading car manufacturers, such as General Motors, Chevrolet, BMW and others, in six major vehicle product areas: seats, dashboards, doors, acoustic absorption, front ends and exhaust systems.

“It takes considerable knowledge, expertise and foresight to remain competitive, let alone maintain a leadership position, in the competitive automotive industry,” says Philippe Levy, CEO for Ivalua. “It’s always impressive to work with the best and we have enjoyed working with Faurecia for the past few years. We look forward to helping them exceed their goals for many more years to come.”

Since the initial implementation in 2007, Faurecia has realized significant results, including:

  • Rapid adoption by Faurecia’s entire purchasing community
  • Reduced number of purchasing information systems from over a dozen to one (Ivalua Buyer))
  • Improved reliability and information sharing
  • Gains in efficiency
  • Lower utilization costs for purchasing information systems
  • Management of hundreds of RFPs per year with GPS
  • Increased empowerment of purchasers and suppliers

Connected to existing applications (GPAO, purchasing quality management) the goal of the Global Purchasing System project was to simplify the tracking of information about the hundreds of suppliers, which are managed and consulted on a daily basis by purchasing agents at the global and local levels.

“Given the size of the group and the fragmented nature of the purchasing function, it seemed essential for us to structure our data to in a way that was easy to share. Ivalua Buyer has brought us true added value in the management of purchasing agents’ everyday tasks, and much, much more,” concludes Jean-François Perroud.
