For the 2017 Key Issues Study, Hackett sought to understand broader business context, top-of-mind issues and the priorities of the procurement agenda.

The survey found that procurement is gearing to prioritize:

  • Elevate the role of procurement as a trusted advisor
  • Expand purchasing’s scope and influence
  • Deepen influence on complex indirect spend categories

Among important priorities, the webinar also covered the highest change of importance compared to the previous year’s results; for instance, supporting the enterprise’s digital transformation and obtaining more value from procure-to-pay remained in the top 5 priorities found by The Hackett Group.
