John D. McCullough

John D. McCullough, CPHIMS, RHIA, MBA is the Domain Lead of ITD Digital Business Applications at Cleveland Clinic. He leads a team of caregivers charged with advancing and transforming enterprise administrative systems, including revenue cycle, patient access, enterprise content management, service management and data integration. With nearly three decades of experience in healthcare and information systems, John has worked as an IT operations executive encompassing a wide range of systems and organizations, several of which were named the Most Wired, HIMSS Analytics Stage 7 Ambulatory, and Most Connected. Recently, John has been engaged in exciting initiatives to digitally modernize IT service management, revenue cycle, the employee health plan, patient experience / customer relationship management (CRM), and blockchain efforts. His teams also partner with business operations to support cloud and digital transformation efforts within HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Workforce Management, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Service Delivery (ITSM), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
Immediately prior to coming to Cleveland Clinic, John served as Associate Vice President, Clinical Enterprise Applications at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (WFBMC). During his tenure, WFBMC replaced the majority of its legacy information systems portfolio with Epic.
John is a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University, and a bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management from the Medical University of South Carolina.
