Milan, May 6th, 2026. Ivalua, the global leader in AI-powered spend management, and PwC Italy today announced a new initiative that will enable students at the Polytechnic University of Bari to develop advanced digital skills through the use of market-leading technology.
More than 180 students enrolled in the Supply Chain Management course, part of the Master’s Degree in Management Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bari, will complement theoretical learning with hands-on experience using the Ivalua platform, gaining exposure to tools and dynamics typical of real-world business environments.
The collaboration has been formalized through a renewable three-year agreement between the Polytechnic University of Bari and Ivalua.
Developed in partnership with PwC Italy, the initiative represents the first experience of its kind in Italy to provide students with access to a digital procurement platform, enabling them to effectively integrate academic learning with practical applications of the concepts covered during the course.
“It is essential to reduce the gap between academia and industry by offering students innovative learning pathways that combine theoretical knowledge with cutting-edge digital tools. Bringing real-life business cases and enterprise-grade tools into the classroom enables a learning-by-experience approach, making education more tangible and closely aligned with operational realities. Collaborations such as this represent a concrete step toward increasingly practice-oriented education that is better equipped to address the real challenges of the productive sector,” said Professor Ilaria Giannoccaro, lecturer for the Supply Chain Management course at the Polytechnic University of Bari and Director of the Department of Mechanics, Mathematics and Management.
The initiative will begin in May and will run for four weeks, combining lectures, case studies and guided use of the Ivalua platform to simulate real-world corporate procurement and supply chain scenarios.
“At PwC Italy, we strongly believe in initiatives that create a tangible bridge between academia and business. This collaboration with Ivalua and the Polytechnic University of Bari enables students to complement theory with practical experience based on real procurement and supply chain scenarios, developing digital skills that are increasingly in demand by the market and strengthening the connection between academic education, technological innovation and the world of work,” said Gianfranco Netti, Director, Procurement Transformation, PwC Italy.
“We are proud to collaborate with the prestigious Polytechnic University of Bari and PwC Italy to support the next generation of supply chain and procurement professionals,” said Gregory Gazzoni, Alliances and Partner Director at Ivalua. “By providing students with hands-on access to the Ivalua platform, we aim to help them develop practical skills that will accelerate their careers and strengthen their digital capabilities.”
