KPMG and Ivalua align to improve end-to-end source through payment capabilities

Alliance addresses enterprise-wide spend visibility, efficiency, compliance, accountability, supplier management and cost reduction challenges

NEW YORK and REDWOOD CITY, December 6, 2016 – KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, and Ivalua, a leading global Spend Management solutions provider, announced an alliance to combine Ivalua’s highly configurable, cloud-based, source-to-pay (S2P) platform with KPMG’s proven procurement process, implementation and change management capabilities.

The resulting holistic solution enables procurement departments to address the pressing issues identified in Ivalua’s ninth Trending in Procurement survey, including standardizing services spend needs and requirements and creating and managing a services supplier repository. It also allows procurement professionals to more strategically support corporate objectives through increased spend visibility, enhanced compliance, and reduced cost and supplier risk.

The alliance-based solution has already enabled organizations in the healthcare and life sciences, financial services, and public sector industries to achieve tangible benefits. Based on KPMG’s eProcurement implementation experience, a well-implemented S2P solution can reduce requisition approval time from 8 days to 20 hours and increase the use of e-invoicing from 0 to 75 percent.

Samir Khushalani, practice leader for KPMG’s Procurement and Operations in the Americas, said, “This alliance is helping clients develop a wider view into organizational spend, reduce inconsistent and manual procurement processes, and increase compliance for existing procurement policies and procedures. With Ivalua, we’re helping procurement become a nimble, informed business partner well-positioned to support strategic initiatives.”

“Ivalua provides a modern Cloud Spend Management suite for Source-to-Pay, Supplier Management, Risk and Spend Analysis in a single solution – leveraging the power of a single code base,” said Dan Amzallag, CEO, Ivalua Inc. “Our partnership with KPMG brings to the market a powerful solution to guide Procurement and Finance leaders through the strategy, design and implementation of a procurement transformation to achieve Value Beyond Savings.”

Both KPMG and Ivalua are recognized market leaders in the area of procurement services. Ivalua was named a Visionary in 2016 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Procure-to-Pay Suites and a Leader in the 2015 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Strategic Sourcing. KPMG received recognition from SpendMatters as a “Top 50 Provider to Know” in Procurement from 2014-2016, and as an ALM Intelligence Vanguard Leader of Sourcing & Procurement Consulting in 2015.

“Partnerships such as this are a ‘win/win’ for the market,” said Jason Busch, Founder and Head of Strategy, Spend Matters. “The increasing diversity and capabilities of source-to-pay procurement technologies combined with individual organizational needs makes ‘one size fits all approaches’ less appealing than before. Consultancies such as KPMG are doing their clients a service by partnering with a range of providers which offer unique capabilities, and technology providers like Ivalua are bringing benefits to their customers and reducing implementation risk by working with expert, third-party advisory and technology experts.”

KPMG LLP, the audit, tax and advisory firm (, is the U.S. member firm affiliated with KPMG International Cooperative (“KPMG International”). KPMG member firms have 174,000 professionals, including more than 9,000 partners, in 155 countries.
